Indian Stock Markets Plunge Sharply, Sensex Drops Over 1,200 Points Amid Investor Panic

 Domestic stock markets nosedived on Monday, with benchmark indices witnessing sharp losses. The S&P BSE Sensex plummeted as much as 1,200 points, while the NSE Nifty50 fell well over 2% to hit an intraday low of 23,601.50.

At around 2:49 pm, the Sensex was down 1373.20 points to 77,871.20 and the Nifty50 tumbled 420.10 points to trade at 23,551.90

 

India's stock markets fell sharply on Monday, causing panic among investors. During the day, the Sensex fell over 1,200 points and the Nifty 50 dropped over 2% to hit a low of 23,601.50.


As of 2:49 pm, the Sensex was trading 1,373.20 points lower at 77,871.20 and the Nifty 50 was down 420.10 points at 23,551.90. Several sectors such as banks, metals and real estate suffered big losses, leading to a massive sell-off in the market.


This massive fall worried investors and the volatility index, which reflects market uncertainty, also went up. Due to the sudden drop in the market, many investors started reconsidering their investments.
